ACTION: Des cochons vivants pour des expériences d'attentats terroristes !!!
Des cochons vivants sont fait sauter avec des explosifs à Porton Down, le laboratoire secret de recherche militaire du gouvernement, afin de simuler les conséquences des attaques terroristes sur des cibles civiles.
Dans une série de tests au centre de recherche biologique et chimique dans le Wiltshire, 18 cochons géants ont été enveloppés dans des couvertures de protection avant que des bombes explosent à quelques mètres. Les scientifiques ont permis aux cochons de saigner jusqu'à ce qu'ils perdent presque un tiers de leur sang pour voir combien de temps ils pourraient être gardés en vie.
Les députés et les groupes de bien-être animal ont mis en doute l'utilisation d'animaux vivants dans les explosions, même si les cochons avaient été anesthésiés. Aucun n'a survécu aux expériences.
Norman Baker, le député libéral-démocrate pour Lewes, a déclaré: "Ces expériences sont révoltantes et inutiles. Malheureusement, nous sommes trop habitués aux effets du terrorisme. Il est parfaitement possible de trouver des choses que nous ne savons pas sans faire exploser des cochons pour le savoir. "
Les documents de recherche, obtenus par The Sunday Times, montrent que les expériences au laboratoire en sciences et technologie de la Défense ont été effectuées parce que les "blessés par explosion sont un problème croissant, en raison de la menace terroriste généralisée".
Les explosions avaient pour but de recréer l'effet d'une explosion dans un espace clos, tels que les attaques de Juillet 2005 dans le métro et un autobus à impériale à Londres, et avaient été conçues pour aider les médecins à contrôler les hémorragies des victimes.
Les cochons ont été enveloppés dans des couvertures de Kevlar pour les protéger des débris mineurs de la bombe et placés à moins de trois mètres de l'explosif. Avant d'exploser, ils avaient des tubes insérés dans les vaisseaux sanguins et la vessies, et leur rate enlevée. Un gros fil avait été mis dans le vaisseau sanguin dans l'abdomen de sorte qu'il soit déchiré lors de l'explosion.
Porton Down a déclaré que le programme de recherche permettrait d'aider les soldats britanniques exposés à des bombes en Afghanistan ainsi que le potentiel des victimes civiles de la terreur. Jusqu'à 94% des victimes grièvement blessées des attentats de Madrid en 2004 ont été identifiées comme souffrant de "souffle du poumon", une blessure qui entraîne des hémorragies dans le temps.
Une porte-parole a dit que de manière anecdotique il y avait déjà des preuves que la recherche contribue à sauver des vies.
"Ce travail fait partie de notre programme de lutte contre le terrorisme pour les soins aux victimes. De façon anecdotique, nous assistons à la preuve de personnes qui survivent grace à ce travail, dit-elle.
Porton Down, initialement créé pour la recherche sur la guerre chimique pendant la première guerre mondiale, utilise une race spéciale de cochon blanc qui a la peau ressemblant à la chair humaine.
Les scientifiques de l'Union britannique pour l'abolition de la vivisection mettent en doute la validité des tests, en disant que l'effet sur un cochon anesthésié de l'explosion d'une bombe est "substantiellement différent de celui sur un être humain conscient".
Un porte-parole a déclaré: "Nous comprenons la nécessité de faire face à la tragédie humaine, dont malheureusement il y a des cas trop nombreux. Cependant, nous ne croyons pas que mutiler des cochons dans ces expériences horribles soit la réponse".

To Whom It May Concern,
I have just learned of an animal experiment conducted at Porton Down, a military research facility; during this study pigs were deliberately subjected to explosives to theorize human results in blast conditions and the level of subsequent bodily damage. In what has been outrageously underestimated and euphemistically described as a situation whereby the pigs were anesthetized beforehand, pigs were intentionally mutilated and then exposed to bombs; indeed, considering the barbaric pre-testing procedures in which the pigs were physically maimed, and the subsequent blast exposure, all pigs were subjected to repetitiously inhumane conditions prior to being killed in gruesome manners. As such, I am writing to express my disturbance regarding this experiment and my demand of immediate termination of any future tests.
Words cannot adequately express the rage felt by myself and others who share the ethical belief that non-human animals have inherent rights, including lives free from human-manufactured exploitation and suffering. The Defence Science and Technology Laboratory's attempt at justification using conciliatory rhetoric meant to solicit approval and support is not only repulsive, it is also blatantly false, lies perpetrated by an industry accustomed to spin and dependent upon the, at times intentional, misinterpretation by constituents to foster acceptance. To excuse this deliberate and sadistic cruelty as a means for potential human benefit is nothing but an employ of disingenuous industry lingo, an example of the distortion advocated as care and concern. However, we who recognize the deceptive nature of such promotion understand the reality: those who actually care for animals do not imprison them and expose them to disease and experimentation; those who actually concern themselves with animals would never subject them to pain, suffering, and agony and the denial of companionship and comfort.
From a pragmatic standpoint, if we could adequately determine the effects of environmental factors, situations, or even drugs using animals in general, then human trials would be unnecessary, a costly redundancy of testing protocols. As such, if animals cannot be used to predict a human outcome in general, then how can they be used to predict physical damage in particular blast circumstances? Each situation is unique, each person's and animal's response an individual one deeming any exclamation of fact completely invalid. Attempting to establish an absolute truth and consequence scenario is a ridiculous premise, one on which you place the lives of humans and the death of animals utilizing a publicity machine employing deceptive statements and misleading assertions fabricated by unscrupulous “scientists” to garner social approval. Indeed, to establish your legitimacy, you constantly promote the idea that those opposed to animal experimentation are supportive of human suffering. What an insidious remark, effective in its subtlety to gain public endorsement while at the same time fostering a hatred towards anti-vivisectionists, labeling us as misanthropists. I can assure you, I am neither ethically challenged nor stupid: your false assertions are nothing but pathetic attempts to rationalize a morally deficient industry where you capitalize on the fear of people and exploitation of animals.
Animal experimentation is unnecessary, unjustified, and unprincipled, its only function to financially benefit those who exploit animals; you are not invisible and your actions are indefensible. Animals have rights to live free from pain and suffering regardless of your objections to acknowledge such, and as long as you profit from the torture of animals, complicit in their abuse and death, I will continue campaigning on their behalf.
